Is anyone on here signed up to Netflix? I've just finished my one month trial and made my first payment as a member only to find it isn't what I expected.

I was led to believe that once you finish the free trial you get access to loads more films and TV shows. After talking to their customer services it's been confirmed that as a paying memeber I just have access to what was available on the trial period. For me this means I've seen most of what is available on their small selection due to postal DVD rentals!

Is anyone a longterm member? If so, please can you tell me if TV shows and films get taken off as well as added?

If you're using a PS3 to watch netflix, you can change your dns settings and get American netflix, which is better in both quantity and variety.
If you can't be arsed doing that, why not try watching some stuff that has been recommended on here. I've found more than a few gems on netflix that I wouldn't normally have watched.

As far as series go, I'd recommend all of Peaky Blinders, Breaking Bad, Better call Saul, Sherlock, Luther, Suits, The Good wife, Sons of Anarchy, both House of Cards series, House, Bloodlines, Daredevil, Fargo, Dexter, The shield, Lilyhammer, Homeland, Silk, Spooks, The State Within, State secret and of course all of the Attenborough stuff.

I'd like to add Mitchell and Webb Look, Peep Show, Archer, The Thick of It, all of the Alan Partridges, Father Ted, the IT Crowd, Black Books, Utopia (I'd seriously recommend this), Top Gear, Parks and Recreation, Marco Polo, all of Louie Theroux's stuff, Life on Mars, Jonathan Creek, the first couple of series of WhiteChapel, etc

I'd echo most of them, as i stuck to the serious stuff. I didnt think that much of Marco Polo (style over substance for me, considering the budget it had it was rather weak). I've probably watched the Thick of It the most of anything on there, I often stick that on to have on in the background, when I'm on here posting.

Content gets recycled every couple of months. Like they recently took Blackadder and a few other series off, but in 6 months or so they will be back. With cartoons they will put up the first few seasons and then the next few seasons will be added in a few months. Movies, a few blockbusters are added every few months and a few will be removed. Their is always hundreds of crap films like sharknado.

I've literally just got rid of it after a year. It was much better originally, they had more fresh content like the Dictator and Hunger Games but the big budget films seemed to dry up.

Still, it's good value at £6 a month.

NowTV is excellent, purely for GOT.

I love binge watching TV series, no adverts, no waiting until next week for the next episode I'd recommend Person of Interest, warehouse 13, the fringe, Merlin, Heroes, The Unit, grimm, one upon a time to name but a few

Notice a theme here? Lol

I am watching Luther...love it just discovered it and I have watched the tudors again :)

I loved Luther, Idris Elba is a don and I am in love with Ruth Wilson

Clown under the bed in Luther still gives me nightmares. Odd Thomas is decent. Community and Arrested Development are excellent. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is also silly fun which is only on Netflix I think

I went back to UK last month and typed the episode name of the program I wanted to watch and a few links came up.Maybe you should try that if you do not have any joy with Netflix ( it was a yank program called Blacklist)

Im watching sons of anarchy at the minute, It's great.

House of Cards is the greatest.

They are all shit?

Many thanks for the replies. I'm still a little disappointed that there isn't more of the latest releases in terms of big movies but I've no doubt it's Hollywood that is the usual blockage, so I can't blame Netflix.

The best thing about it is that I can cancel at anypoint unlike Amazon Prime, so will probably watch the TV shows as I've seen most of the movies and then cancel and sign up again after a break.
