Is it a USB one or one of the card type things? I think they're both quite prone to overheating, especially the USB one, my internet slows right down if i've been using it too long, i have to unplug, let it cool for a bit, then put it back in.

its a usb one but the reciever is hanging about 2 feet above me off a frame and cant really over heat,it just seams a coincidence now that my lad has tried to tune his psp into the router and needed a network code or something,he's denying any wrong but i'm not to sure..........

To be honest, the wind could have just been blowing the wrong way. I spent the best part of a year trying to get my fucking wireless internet set up with my laptop, whole days would just fly by while i was trying to figure out what the fuck 1 setting did. So many different things randomly broke once i eventually got it working for a short period of time.

Never again.
