Nets on the goals at Etihad Stadium

'Already' was only a year ago, as you weren't around then congratulations on your grasp of a keyboard at such a young age, though it does make me wonder where you saw the non existent blue and White nets.

If you look back on games from other seasons, we seem to have had black nets for four or five years, and before that white ones. Never blue and white.

That said this has been posted on numerous occasions before already, one of the more mundane threads I have always found-as long as the ball goes in the net I couldn't care less if they were bright pink.

I think it would look a lot better if we had white goal netting at the ground. I seem to remember white and blue ones from a couple of years back and they looked class. When did we change to dark netting. It seems to have been there for a couple of seasons. Nothing wrong with it, I just think the white/light colouring looks better.

when was already? Don't think I've been around since already

They were changed when we hosted the Europa League Final a few years back (on UEFA's instructions). The reason being was that the advertising were easier viewed by the TV cameras instead of looking through white netting. The big screens were installed around the same time too (again, on UEFA's instructions). I remember being told this around that time when I done the stadium tour.
This is the correct reason, all to do with advertising and why as stated

so your having a pop at him for missing a topic from a year ago and then bringing it up?

YCMIU.

anyway in relation to the O.P i reckon it's easier to see through the black netting so that's why they have it. personally i like it as it is and hope they add this detail on fifa :)

Well we used to have blue netting at Maine Road and none of the North Stand were up in arms complaining they couldn't see the game and fuck UEFA.

I think the Black nets came in at the start of Sven's season in charge. I don't remember us ever having Blue and White nets at CoMs.

I agree with earlier posts that we should have White nets as a screamer just doesn't look the same with Black nets.
