I knew Nev through business, and he was a decent guy, albeit a bit controversial at times. He was a football man through and through, did a lot for Bury FC over the years but liked Cricket too.

Condolences to Mrs Neville, Gary, Phil and Tracey.

It's at times like these you should put football loyalties aside.

Terrible for the family. I never liked either of the Neville brothers, due to football rivalries, but listening to them both as pundits they do come across as likeable, down to earth blokes. He deserves a lot of credit for that.

Oh of course we always want a little more. Be a miracle if I get that far anyway. But my point was, if you have kids, it is a blessing if you can die at an age when they don't need you anymore. He managed it. Still sad obviously, but not that sad.
