Well, yes. Which makes much more sense. Although it wasn't Marwood he was taking the piss out of. It was her choice of language to describe her health. Marwood was merely the person the piss take was being communicated to. The joke wasn't 'on him'.

The writer of the email was taking the piss out of Neds mums email, that is patently obvious to me.

But surely you would need to see the conveniently omitted Email from Marwood to comment on that. The "You used to be nice" comment by "G" suggests Marwood has himself commented on Ned's Mam and "G" is responding to said comment. My view on this whole affair is a press vendetta instigated by Kia and wholly supported by your usual hacks which is down to a personal dislike of Cook. I think any "investigation" will more likely uncover disrespectful comments made by Marwood to Cook. Sure, they can be replaced, but I doubt it will be on the say so of the British Press.

Suggestion, why don't you write about Dr Onuoha's miracle recovery from being ravaged by cancer. It appears that 11 months later, Dr Onuoha may not have been as ravaged as first described in the email. This is probably what the email composer was implying to Brian rather than (as mostly everyone has been made to believe), an insensitive piss take to those with cancer. If I was 'ravaged' with cancer I would be terminally ill, in a hospital bed and certainly not working to negotiate my son's dealings. Can we please focus on Dr Onuoha's exaggerated condition and focus less on the media's usual gaff and lack of compentency portrayal of Garry Cook. A man who may have seen through the comments and deemed them as a last ditch attempt to get a sympathy deal from City.

I think you might have hit on something there, and I can easily believe that Cook was commenting on something he may have received from Marwood, although Cook is the target of the 'poisoned pen-letter' and the way it's been presented (totally out of all context) it seems like he's a gonna - not necessarily for the lingo, but for the deceit - if indeed the hacking claim is totally bogus.
'OnuohaGate' - one gaff too far?

Cook said he didn't send the email so your explanation is irrelevant.
