Worcester Bosch boilers are good but mine can't be used with Hive and things like that, so check that if it's important. The mistake we made was having the combi boiler put in the old cistern cupboard in the middle of the house meaning the cold water has to go upstairs, get heated, and come back downstairs to the kitchen. This results in up to a minute's delay for hot water to the kitchen taps. The British Gas engineer told me that when they quoted but as they were double everyone else I ignored them. Worcester Bosch do a one off service at £125 and they turn up so no hassle. My neighbour has a Vaillant and recommends them - probably little between them.Bump this thread up again.
Terrible time of the year but our Oil heating is on the blink but we are considering pulling the lot out and switching to Gas.
Its going to be a big job as we want to 1) pull the boiler out and go gas, 2) fix the pipes in the houses (shitty extension done before our time) and 3) new bathroom.
Anyone any advice? Best brands of Gas Boilers and prices? Combi boilers best? Sort of trying to work a budget but understand it will be £3-5k. Cheers.

We had an Ideal at our last place and it was an absolute bag of shit, I made a point of asking the engineer which would he choose and he said hands down Worcester. They're apparently very dependable and really easy to work on if needed.Worcester Bosch boilers are good...
Had mine 11 years, serviced just twice, the second just a few weeks back. Thought it was on its way out so got Worcester Bosch in directly and they have two prices ... £350 for a strip down and replace any parts or £125 for a service. In the end it just needed a new diaphragm and some minor parts and he just charged the lower price.
