Has anyone decided what we're singing for Silva yet?

I've just been singing my own words to The Great Escape tune.

I hate the "he scored the fifth goal at Old Trafford" line; i think it's proper lame! The lad's a European Championship and World Cup CHAMPION and the best we can sing about him is scoring a goal at the Swamp?!

So i just keep the Lee Bradbury line in there because i think it's quite a funny line:

"He's David Silva, Oh David Silve
Fan-tastic, super, smashing, lovely
He's David Silva, Oh David Silva
He is the maestro of Maine Road"

I like it that way and will contniue to sing that...even if i do get a few funny looks! ;)

I thought it was "fantastic, smashing, super, lovely" not "fantastic, super, smashing, lovely"?


I have no objections to this, Dan. However, I don't think anyone has ever sung this version. So we still need a song for Silva.

Whilst we're on the subject, can we decide what to sing instead of "We are City, from Maine Road"? We're not from Maine Road anymore, and everyone I ever speak to refers to it as the Etihad Stadium , or previously "The City of Manchester Stadium".

'We are City, we are City, Super City, from the Etihad' fits better, no?

Also, how about reworking another "As I was walking down Alan Turing Way, without a tenner in my wallet..." And you could have "the crowd all roared, when Merlin the magician scored, we're the famous Manchester City"
