Sorry if covered, how is the qualifying games selected, is it just a random draw, can teams from the same league play each other. TIA

Thanks both, whilst it looks messy at first we at least know our fate straight away don't we. thanks againit is determined as per below.
no country restriction at all, in can be all English tie in playoff round and then also in last 16 etc.
league stage positions set our fate somewhat for all tournament.
eg for below if we finish any of 17 or 18th, we deffo get either 15th or 16th in playoff round. and then comes the surprise of getting whoever finished 1st or 2nd in league stage in last 16.

Looking at that you'd be better off finishing 21 or 22 rather than anywhere between 15 to 18.
Yep, statistically for sure, but you’ve no idea where the harder teams will finish where.Looking at that you'd be better off finishing 21 or 22 rather than anywhere between 15 to 18.
I don’t think that’s right. They wouldn’t progress from the group with 4 defeats from 6. Do you mean four defeats in total? It's like the last time the scousers won it, beaten 4 times in the group stages and beating spursy in the final.
The organisers weren't taking into account that high ranked teams like PSG, Madrid and ourselves would be as low in the standings.Looking at that you'd be better off finishing 21 or 22 rather than anywhere between 15 to 18.
Yep, fingers crossed, like you say it's just our mind set, hopefully get something tonight.Yeah, I was jesting mate...the typical City mindset is hard to shift for us FOC's.
Creates another televised draw, 'excitement'/another paid for piss up.I don't get why they don't simply do 9th vs 24th, 10th vs 23rd etc (as they do in the EFL playoffs) rather than this pairing system of 9 or 10 vs 23 or 24? I know it's only a minor difference but it seems weird that you could finish slightly below another team yet still get a theoretically slightly easier draw than them. If you finish 9th, you should be rewarded with the on-paper easiest opponent in the play-offs that is 24th.
We'll know the 2 teams we can potentially face if we go through, there is still a draw on the 31st.Thanks both, whilst it looks messy at first we at least know our fate straight away don't we. thanks again

Yes totally agree. When we won it in 2023 we were unbeaten, hardly even recognised by the media.Yes in total mate, my point is that getting beat 4 times in a CL campaign is a lot.
We are what 5th favourites now even though we have been awful and have a CL league position of a submarine.
YesIf we beat Bruges are we 100% in play offs?
