Any news on when it's out or what it's like yet? Or when that is expected?

Had mine 2 1/2 years now and it's on its last legs due to me dropping the fucker all the time and need to replace it soon-ish.

It'll be late September/early October. Word is larger screen (~4 inch) but only bigger in height not width, different design (supposed backplate was leaked a few months ago, <a class="postlink" href="http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and-communications/mobile-phones/iphone-5-backplate-leaks-showing-mini-dock-and-bigger-screen-1082655" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.techradar.com/news/phone-and ... en-1082655</a>).

Looking forward to it myself, I've been on my current iPhone 4 for over 2 years. Definitely looking at the Galaxy S3 as well, though that could be *too* big.

Think iphone 4s stretched. 4 inch screen with..err not a lot of difference from the old one apart from the charging port is smaller so unless it comes with an additional attachement you`ll have to buy lots of new apple products cos your old ipod dock will be useless.

Information on it will come out a few months before it's due to be released after an Apple technician will "Accidentally" leave a phone in a bar/ restaurant.

Seems to happen every time

Waste of cash. Only people who like to spend more than something is worth buy Apple products. Less hardware, less performance, less functionality, less choice, less polished, more costly. iOS has dated really badly.

I had a HTC Desire for a couple of months a year ago, coming off an iPhone 4. It wasn't in the same league: Android 2.3 as it was then was clunky, the battery hardly got me through half a day (I took it to Wembley for the cup final, two batteries coupled with pretty light use and it still ran out before Birmingham on the coach home, iPhone got me further on one charge with more use). I sold it after two months and went back to my iPhone. I like the way everything's integrated; I use my iPhone for literally everything, with no other iPods etc. It's so much more convenient, the UI is nicer, music player functionality is better, apps are (still) better, though Android is starting to catch up. As I say, I'm interested to see how Android's improved with the Galaxy S3, because everyone is raving about it. But at the moment I'm definitely siding towards getting the new iPhone when it comes out, because I've had no bother whatsoever with my iPhone 4 (except when I dropped the bastard and the screen smashed, but that was my own fault!)
