New Kitchen advice

I have a small Kitchen. It’s against a back wall. 5 doors high, worktop and 5 doors below.

The doors have like a gloss white plastic cover over them but ones cracked/ripped. The actual doors underneath the plastic are fine.

It all sort of just needs a revamp I think.

Looking into it, it’s a bloody dear do this kitchen malarkey isn’t it!

Should I get new doors or can you get them recovered? I have no idea what’s easiest or cheapest way forward.

Anyone has any ideas shout up and I’ll take all advice onboard.
Email a list of doors size and quantity ,what colour you fancy to me

When using the likes of wren/Wickes eyc...

- ensure the steps/people involved between consultation, design and survey are as minimal as possible. Too many steps = poor Comms and loss of info
- don't cut too many corners/costs. You'll pay one way or another and/or won't be happy with the result
- budget a few grand extra for supplementary works i.e electrics, plumbing, plastering etc
- interrogate the design and insist on the working drawings not just visuals
- triple check the order against delivery list
- insist on creds of thier installer and request a personality type you would likely get on with. Insist they consult you and highlight challenges throughout.
- work from home whilst install takes place
- expect delays, missing items and snags etc
- don't be a dickhead. Everything is resolvable and the installer/supplier is more likely to want to do the best for you when you work with them.
- oh yeah, most importantly... make your missus feel like she's made all the important decisions.

Good luck!

You can always strip the plastic wrap off and give them a paint because it’s only compressed paper anyway.

Mostly always a better option to just replace doors and worktops rather than units too.
Did this last years saved a fortune, the cupboards these days cost a fortune, the doors and worktops not so much, we kept the same design as there wasn’t much scope to change, but we did add a cupboard around the freezer and with the door it was £1k the rest onky cost us £4k!

My kitchen has matt finish doors, they show up finger prints etc really badly. Any idea what works best to clean them?

White Vinegar or a generic glass window cleaner spray (clear solution) spritzed onto a microfibre cloth.

Edit: Make sure the MF cloth is nice and damp, wring out the cloth if overwet & don't be tempted to use the dry parts of the MF cloth to dry finish as it can be abrasive and leave micro-scratches on your surfaces.

I highly recommend Betterkitchens based in Weston Super Mare, the quality of the carcasses and doors is the best I've seen and they are well priced. You order it all online so make sure you get everything spot on.
