seems very silly, how can they oppose something that is their to remember the lives that were taken during the terror attack and a symbol used to show the solidarity of Manchester.

Ridiculous isn’t it?

Apparently City were only supposed to have the bee on for one month (and be allowed to print in the shop) for one month but decided they were going to continue it, obviously against the wishes of the league sponsors. Madness.

The club may not even be allowed to print the numbers with the mosaic and bee in the club shop - possibly online only.

The craziest part of it all is that Barclays don't even sponsor the league anymore and haven't since 2016.

Away kit is released tomorrow, no fuss or fanfare, it’s just going to appear in the shop.

Should have been today.

Also, apparently Barclays are not happy with us over having the Manchester bee on our shirts last season.

Barclays didn’t sponsor the Premier League last season did they?

We also didn’t wear the bee in any Premier League or cup game.

A company called Sporting ID have a central contract with the premier league for numbers and letters for which I imagine we will receive a fixed income. We have to then buy the numbers and letters from Sporting ID and if we sell over a threshold, we will receive commission.

We're allowed to make our own deal for the numbers and letters on the European numbers and fonts, but Sporting ID will probably have complained to the PL that people are not buying as much of their (standardised) numbers and letters from us if the bee mosaic option is available.

It is capitalism rather than anyone being bothered about what political message a bee represents.
