radiohead are gash. oasis new stuff may have a lot of repition about it but there early stuff defined a generation, radiohead will never produce anything in the same league as definitely maybe.

As for Rush I disagree completely. They make a concious effort never to repeat themselves they have said this repeatedly in interviews.

totally agree with you but within this framework they will make music that they will like themselves not to any fad that might be out there

great new album by the way too[/quote]

I'll have to check that out, back in the day I was a big fan. Moving Pictures was my first compact disc ever!

Like the "epic" early albums.
Geddy Lee is one hell of a bassist.
Was I mistaken or were they accused of being influenced,(lyrically at least),by Ayn Rand?

No your on the money NF. The drummer writes all of the lyrics is influenced by Rand's work. I used to be into the early stuff too but the lyrics can tiresome and preachy at times. "The Trees" is an overt jab at socialism. "Now the Trees are all kept equal by hatchet, axe and saw" (;

well worth it, back to form with a bang, moving on from vapor trails which was a bit hard going at times

I'm loving The Shock Of The Lightning. If that's a sign of the album to come it's going to be great.

But you know that Radiohead are better don't ya Quinny ;-)

Technically yeah, it's like Radiohead are a pair of very cool but slighty uncomfortable shoes not suitable for everyday but use but pretty special whilst Oasis are like an old pair of socks, kinda ragged and shitty but comfy and oddly familiar.

My favourite 90's band really though would be the Manics, preferably when they were gobshites in make up with Richey although I did like Everything Must Go and This Is My Truth etc.

Kinda lost interest after "The Holy Bible",which I thought was their masterpiece.
A few decent tunes since,but I thought they lost it lyrically after the Richey mystery.
Played ok at the festival at weekend,fair bit of the "older" stuff.
And Nirvana's "Pennyroyal Tea" - surprisingly well done.
