New PL financial controls | Clubs agree squad spending cap 'in principle'

Only Paqueta and Gumieres would probably cost around 70-100m each. If we bought one of them for say 80m over a 5 year contract that’s 16m per year in amortised fees so it’s still easily doable.
Yeh I was wondering if the signings being amortised would be allowed or is it the straight up fee. If what you say is correct then it shouldn’t hamper us too much.

dommy doesn't have a set opinion on anything, he just goes against the majority so he can argue, as for changing his vote after a couple of days, he usually changes his posts after a minute or two to catch people out and argue more.

i'm not even sure dommy is human, may be a russian bot :) .
I’m trying really hard to believe there are actually members who don’t have him on ignore.

Has anyone seen a proper analysis of this proposed new rule? By anybody sensible, I mean.

I still can't get my head around how this is going to improve the league, at least in conjunction with the 85% squad cost rule.

Grateful if anyone can point me to one.

It seems to me more and more that, after 15 years of trying to stop growth in City's revenue, they have finally found a way to solve their problem: just take revenue completely out of the equation. The fact it was suggested by Palace and supported by Arsenal doesn't dissuade me from that point of view.

If we are lucky this thing will get shot down in June, either because it is uncompetitive, or because it will lead to salary restructuring and limitation. Or because Masters finally gets a grip on the PL and gets these idiot clubs under control (what does the executive chairman do exactly?). I can dream, I suppose.

It’s a mess, the 85% rule applies to clubs not in Europe, those in Euro comps will be limited to 70% of all revenues is a couple of years time, how that’s dealt with I have no idea.

I’m only going off the explanation of a Sky journalist trying to explain these rules and what others have posted in here after Keiran McGuire had been on Talkshite.

As you say (not in as many words) Masters has made a proper clusterfuck of this, he’s being dragged from pillar to post by all those with an anti City agenda.

I just don't see the benefit in hamstringing the clubs with the most revenue, while not allowing the other clubs (except maybe three or four) to catch up. What is in this for the other 15 clubs? Or for the PL?

Spending cap agreed to, has this any affect on our spending power or is it all window dressing?
