With there being talk of a full scale clean out this pre-season, and the prospect of significant new blood and a reshaping of the team, what do you guys think of some of the "high number" players moving into squad numbers more in line with their standing. I mean, when you have 30-somethings on half the outfield players, maybe it's time?
If so, what numbers do you think should be sorted for which players next year, and what numbers should we give to which NEW players?
Goalkeepers
1 Joe Hart
16 Kasper Schmeichel
37 Shay Given
Defenders
2 Micah Richards
3 Michael Ball
4 Nedum Onuoha
5 Pablo Zabaleta
15 Javier Garrido
18 Danny Mills
22 Richard Dunne
25 Wayne Bridge
26 Tal Ben-Haim
30 Shaleum Logan
Midfielders
6 Michael Johnson
19 Gelson Fernandes
21 Dietmar Hamann
33 Vincent Kompany
34 Nigel de Jong
Attacking Midfielders
7 Stephen Ireland
8 Shaun Wright-Phillips
11 Elano
17 Martin Petrov
29 Kelvin Etuhu
Strikers
9 Valeri Bojinov
10 Robinho
12 Darius Vassell
14 Jô
20 Felipe Caicedo
24 Ched Evans
27 Benjani Mwaruwari
28 Daniel Sturridge
39 Craig Bellamy
And, please, no-one even THINK about putting someone at #23.
Cheers
