New Stadium

however we cut it our owners know business and I deffo seen something saying they was trying to buy! No matter what people say money does dry up weather it has all gone or refusal to spend any more so they must be planning ahead.

WHY would they sell it to us when we are paying rent?
its income for them.
And for us to move anywhere else in Manchester
we would need planning permision from them.
They have us check mate.
easy solution-we only pay rent on seats over 34000,stadium hold 48000,If extended to 70000 and we fill it,council gets 14000 seats rent every game guarenteed as agreed we take the rest cos we payed to extend and quite frankly I dont mind us paying into council coffers cos we are a Manchester club for Mancunians.

You seem to have the whole deal done.
and know all the clauses in the contract.
I will bow to your insider knowlage.

It was public knowledge when we moved to CoMS that we'd pay rents only on the proportion of the gate exceeding Maine Road's capacity ie 34k.

Since the Arabs took over there seems to have been a dearth of press releases etc stating what their intentions for the club actually are in terms of the ground and the surrounding areas. I personally don't see a problem with the club issuing a statement of intent for the fans to digest. Checking the MCFC website I see there hasn't been a 'points of Blue' meeting between the club and the fans since February 2008. Surely one is overdue?

we might have all the money in the world but building anew stadium, when we have only been in this one for lessthan ten years, is not exactly the best idea, especially in the current economic downturn...hardly likely to get many supporters for the idea at any level of the football or political world

Economic downturn?! The Arabs are filthy rich!

I agree, we need a new stadium which we can call "home" I hate COMS, its has no character or soul. The commissioning of a new stadium & training ground to boot are surely on their agenda, plus this can only be good for the construction industry!

yep not rented but 70 ish% part owned in terms of the seats.Don;t know about the land though...

Eastlands is perfect already, one of the best in the world and i've got a good routine going now and is finally home.

Why would we need to move, it's not like we can't extend it due to no more room.
