I think they've all been crap. So crap, that the prequels now rate above the sequels. Disney has killed the franchise off.

Yep. They literally had a universe of adventure to discover and they chose a large round planet killing weapon and a small band of protagonists to overcome insurmountable odds.
Jesus, these films are so disappointing!

Just wish they produced a movie to challenge The Empire Strikes Back as the best Star Wars film ever. Problem is they are probably too scared to make anything that dark anymore... espec. now it's a Disney flick...

Original trilogy was a great balance between story & science fiction. That ended with the first 3, everything since is the result of the Hollywood affliction of trying to squeeze every penny out of something unoriginal, lacking story and filled instead with special effects

Jeez it's like you've read my mind. I stopped at episode 8 after finding it so bad so haven't seen Solo. Looks like a good choice if we have seemingly have almost the same viewpoint.

I wonder if it's an age thing as I first saw Episode 1 when I was 9 so maybe there's a bit of rose tinted glasses with the prequels to me.

I don't mind the Prequels either. Solo wasn't that bad to be honest, probably a bit unnecessary if anything. The Last Jedi, however, don't get me started.
