New supporters/interest in City.

agree with op round my way theirs load of blue shirts now but b4 the money me and a very few other was the only ones also in my town(oldham) ya see more and more city shirts but hey couldnt give a toss about others i know i was a fan since aslong as i can remember

I live in Wrexham never see any City shirts here, none of the major sports shops sell them, loads of plastic rags though, my first visit was in 1968 at Maine Rd v WBA, my dad was a City fan and would allways take me on my birthday as a treat, I use to get loads from kids at school when I would be the only one in a City shirt, Colin Bell was god and still is, you will without doubt start seeing young kids in shirts the more successful we get, don't see this as a problem, the more the better.

I dont see it as a problem, i just dont want us to become like trafford, where people just say they support them, when really they just use it as a poking sword in the pub if 'their' team wins, when really they KFA.
watch what happens when we win the PL,didn't Chelsea use to average about 15,000?

Theres quite a few nobs on here who think joining a forum gives them the right to call our great club theirs, when 5 years ago, the cunts didnt even know there were 2 teams with Manchester in their name.

QFT
+1

Honestly i'd consider myself a 'new' supporter, before 4 years ago I had no interest in football at all (it's all about who you hang out with) all I knew was that everyone where I am supports Man Utd, yet never go to any matches. So all I was really exposed to were 'armchair' fans who tried to religiously drill into my brain that utd where sent by god. I of course resisted this idea, and it honestly grew me to dislike football. Then by chance I befriended a City supporter and he introduced me to the club and at one point got me to go to a match. Over time I slowly started to enjoy football, to the extent now that I actually go out regularly and attend matches when I can afford it.

So yeah, i'm a 'new' supporter, I never saw City play in the low leagues but I wish I had done as i've grown to love this club over the years. I guess now I get to be looked down on and told to fuck off. yay.

Not at all fella!

You just didnt like football. Not like you jumped from 1 team to us. The way i see it is that City have been the only team you've ever supported and thats good enough for me pal

I was in America a couple of weeks ago and was asked by some american guy where I was from. After telling him Manchester England I was shocked to here him ask "You City or United?" and when I replied "City" he began chatting about the FA cup victory and the players.

Ive been America a few times and the previous time I was there in 2004, the kind of reaction I got from telling people where Im from was "oh thats where that famous soccer club are from" to which I'd reply "Man City", with a look of confusion they'd reply "Who".

From my experiences I'd say we are definately becoming more world renound
