Well Red Bull New York play in white and red as their home strip, so a blue does make sense for a rival colour...

this would be brilliant, huge marketing/PR gains for city whilst also presumably providing a feeder club that players can be loaned out to?

although I'm not sure how effective a loan to the MLS would be!

New York City FC in partnership with Manchester City FC, wow. I hope this happens. There would be so many possibilities to develop different aspects of the club, it'd be fantastic for us.

And I thought painting the Yas Marina grands prix track our colours was big!

I live in L.A. and have had season tickets to the Galaxy for years.
Just when I was chuffed to see the back of Beckham this happens.
It's not really City though is it?
So I will continue to support the Galaxy, I hope that NY City do alright, just won't support them against the G's.
Obviously the Beckham thing isn't going to happen with NY City.
He has rights to own a team in the MLS, but interestingly enough NY is the one place that he isn't allowed to.
My guess is that he''l eventually buy a stake in the Galaxy.
Regarding loaning players out to NY City and the MLS, it is a good idea, the season runs from April to November so the summer months would be ideal.
MLS isn't a great league but I would put it on par with mid table Championship teams.
I basically just go for a decent piss up and a cheap day out.
It's not like I'm going to watch the Dodgers, Clippers or Lakers

Looks like they could be called City FC or New York City FC, MLS registered the City FC trademark recently. Like Chivas USA it'd be an actual extension of our club.
