Needing a bit of help, Me & the Mrs are getting married in November & thinking of going New York for the honeymoon for a few days without the little knipper. As we've never been before can anyone recommend anywhere safe & sound? (Bearing in mind got a season ticket to pay for!!)

I recommend VIVA LAS VEGAS!

Can't belive you've said that coz we was thinkin of going there, but felt it might not be a couples trip?

Save yourself the hassle (and the money) and just get married in Vegas!

Thats what the missus and myself did, and I wouldnt change it for the world, she is a fooking star!

:D

Its mostly all safe these days and its all sound. Mid town (near the empire state) means you can either go up (to central park) or down (to soho, greenwich etc). Its a brilliant city and has so much more to offer than Vegas.

I would recommend something thats virtually free - get the subway to Brooklyn, have a wander round and something to eat, then walk back over the Brooklyn Bridge - its the best view of the manhattan skyline.

Enjoy!

Got back from NYC 2 weeks back. Awesome time, i'd suggest 4/5 nights to see most things. We stayed at the Wellington hotel, cheapest in manhatten we could find, great location. Not greatest sized rooms or hotel, look on trip advisor for reviews. I'd look for a hotel in that area (7th ave, around 30th to 37th street) as central park and midtown, where most tourist attractions are, are easily walkable. the subway stations are plentiful and very cheap, best staying off it at night (apparently)

"Our home bar is The Mad Hatter (3rd Ave @ 26 St) and local members meet there regularly on matchdays. On derby day a number of the more vocal like to head down to Nevada Smith's on 3rd @ 11 St to get in the faces of the Utd support. If you are ever in New York during a City match, be sure to let us know and meet up with us."

Never far away Lol !

Was just going to give The Hatter a mention!!! Was there the other day when we played v Golum's boys UGH!!! It was a midweek match and there were about 15 of us in. We have grown by leaps and bounds. Our fearless leader aka Jonesey wasnt in as he is most times. The trip to meet him might be worth it!!!!

Keep in mind New York has a chronic shortage of hotels so it wont be cheap. On the flip side, there are deals galore in Vegas! lots of entertainment in Vegas but lots in New York as well-some of it FREE!! It starts getting cold here in november but it wont be warm in Vegas either. If you come to NY in late November, then thats around Thanksgiving. Its a nice holiday and signals the start of the Christmas season. Walking down 5th Ave when its all decked out in Chrimbo decorations is magical!!!!

Also the flight to Vegas will be about 4 hours longer as well. Its also three more time zones away from New York!!!

If you do come to NY-stop off at The Hatter for a match!!!
