Indded there is a pub right close to the ground - been in there before - but that is - as you would expect - a Barcodes pub and will not have much room for CITY fans - just thought that there would be perhaps a major city centre pub identified to watch the scum game after - oh well - walking around Newcastle is easy and I am sure that I will quickly find the city fans - unless we are all depressed

There are quite a few decent pubs in Newcastle. Ones to avoid are Shearers Bar (next to souvenir shop) and The Strawberry (across the road from the stadium) simply because they are full of Newcastle fans. There is a sports bar called Shark Club across the road from the stadium which is ok but it is near enough £4 a pint.

I'm probably going to be heading to Crows Nest myself which is a 5 minute walk from the stadium, however in the wrong direction to the train station for those of you who want to be near to the train station to get home.

Crows nest is usually a mix of newcastle fans and students. Good atmosphere and the drinks are relatively cheap (around £2.50 a pint).
