Newcastle (H) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Ake was incredible (we don't miss either of our previous left backs at all with him on this run). Foden's run for the 1st goal was so good. Grealish and Haaland on the wind up at the end was a delight.

At this point they've stopped trying to hide the upside down officiating. How those 3 or 4 tactical fouls weren't yellow cards I'll never ever know.

.......There is zero legs in the middle of the park with the Gundo/KDB partnership. If we don’t have total control of .....
Foden had a stellar first half and decent second one, but Gundogan was terrific the whole game. He's been everywhere, very certainly covered the longest distance of all of our players. Only when he leaves and we don't find his equivalent we ll see what we are missing actually. Kev though, few good moves each game, but very poor since the WC.
We totally lost control between 50' and 60' minutes and finally Pep made the right sub. Happy...very happy Saturday.

I think we played well against a very good team and it is about time we got a game where a bit of luck landed in our favour.

The Arsenal performance today will be very telling. They are at home against a bad side, relegation fodder. Everybody is expecting them to win comfortably. If they get anything other than a convincing win people will say they're feeling the pressure.

Also pressure on the Rags tomorrow in the M62 History Cup.

ake is player of the season for me.

That tackle from Dias. That fucking superb tackle. That's the fire we've had missing in some of those draws/loses.

And gods just how immense is Nathan Ake this year. My player of the year, his workrate, awareness, skill, he's absolutely phenomenon this year.
Dias Walker and Ake immense. Them three on it we are not letting many in. Unless they get a shot off v Eddy

Obviously, it's a good result but it feels like paper over the cracks a bit currently, doesn't it?

Our midfield gets played through far too easily thus leaving our backline exposed. KDB, Gundo, and Rodri are just too slow collectively.

Grealish MOTM for me with Foden not far behind.

Only God knows how Trippier escaped that game without a card.
Spot on that mate
