Newcastle (H) Post Match Thread

Happy to explain.

In the main, I thought he was excellent, he linked up well, the senior players were happy to give him the ball and he offered far more going forward than Danilo

My concern, are only slight, but they are down in inexperience and fitness. That’s nothing that can’t be solved but if we were playing Real Madrid away tomorrow I would probably go for Danilo. Just

Well we don’t we have Bristol Cardiff and wba in the next games so let the guy get his run in the first team and find his feet. He is coming on a treat and it’s nice to see.

They really are some of the mist obnoxious’deluded ,arrogant, gobbiest set of fans around, the WWYWYWS got its regular airing every 5 minutes,

The WWYWYWS really bugged me. NUFC got an average of 16,834 as recently as 1991, but hearing them chant it over and over brought home that some people actually believe this myth. So I've decided to re-publish on my Facebook a blog I did for MCFC a few years back. I think it's all still relevant (it was written during the 2014-15 season, hence the mention of the stand extension). Well worth reading if anyone's getting hassle of rival fans about this sort of thing. Some stats in my piece that may surprise even a few Blues:

Well I wouldn't be happy with Danilo, he hasn't stood out for me when he has played the last few times. But its all opinions.

Some very good points in there, I love the contradiction that outsiders like to label our ground the emptyhad with thousands upon thousands of empty seats. Then rock up to the Etihad and sing ‘where were you when you were shit’ when there are 50000 plus people in there.

Great article Gary. Some brilliant stats for us to use.

I’ve had a great day but tarnished somewhat by getting in and reading some of the shite comments on here. FFS I’m watching some of the best football I’ve ever seen from City and seriously can’t understand why some ‘fans’ just seem to be gagging to focus minor negatives.

Some moan for the sake of it and I also wonder what they've been watching. But I'm sure Pep will be looking to eradicate the minor negatives as that will make us even better in the long term.
Nobody complains about being 12 points clear and still in four competitions but we're having to go balls out for 90 minutes as we haven't been building up decent leads and killing games early in the last month or two.
The four competitions, with limited options to rotate at the back (and nobody anywhere near KDB or Silva standards as alternatives) means we risk players burning themselves out.

Are you aware there were two teams playing today?
Yep and one of them were an Ederson triple save away from a completely underserved point as instead of killing the game of at 2-0 we completely took our foot off the gas and lost our focus.

We do and it's a good opportunity for him to get a nice run of games in the position and start to 'get' the parts of the job he doesn't seem to at the moment. Whether he plays in all of them is a different story as I'm not entirely sure he has the engine/stamina for 4 full games in 11 days.
