Our defending has strengthened and we should be looking to beat these without having to resort to chasing the game. Make them come out and get the ball. All too often, as soon as we gain possession, teams run back into a 5-4-1 and go narrow on the edge of their area. This is a tough system to break through for any team.
When we do get the ball and have the chance of going forward while they’re not set up, we need to be doing it quicker and be more direct giving them less chance to recover. We certainly have the players with the capability to do that, but we get in to a really good position and instead of taking advantage of the situation, we turn around and play backward.
Let’s be ruthless and turn the knife on them. They got dumped out of CC by Brentford and will be smarting, they’ll come to defend for their lives and nothing else. We will be witnessing total anti football because Bruce won’t dare lose because of their position. Anything but a loss will be huge for them. On the reverse, we should be looking to gain momentum and really push on to regain our place amongst the top 4.
