Newcastle Have Done What City Should Be Doing

That was exactly my point
The school will NOT be paying tout prices and maybe not even adult prices per ticket.
There is something fundamentally missing in this story.
The school quoted in the article is a Private Fee paying school, who supposedly attended Newcastle’s last Champions League home game v AC Milan in 2023 en masse.

Annual Tuition Fee’s per pupil quoted on their website of £20k per year!!!

So I am not sure a touts prices would bankrupt them???

In my humble opinion???

Thanks for the extra meat on the bare bones

They fill those crappy seats at the front. They’re the only natives of the British Isles who can withstand the cold and rainy weather those seats suffer.
Hey, I’m in one of the seats on the front row. There’s nothing crappy about them. They are great seats and even in the wind, rain, snow it’s not too bad and makes me nostalgic for the Maine Road days. Thank you. :-) :-)

Us oldies are made of stern stuff and not afraid of a bit of weather!!! ;-)

I don't believe anything as I don't have the facts about how the School got the tickets.

Why would Newcastle cancel season tickets of the ticket sellers if Newcastle sold the tickets to the school? Are Newcastle lying and making that up as well?

Once again, Newcastle don't have an official ticket touting partner, so why would they sell 45 random tickets to a school in Dundee. Why wouldn't Newcastle sell 45 tickets to a school in Newcastle? Or just sell the tickets to their fans, which they have done.

We could go on arguing this forever. At the end of the day Newcastle CANCELLED the tickets and sold them to their fans. For doing that they deserve credit.

What would of happened to our tickets if City were playing Barcelona at the Etihad? There would be Barcelona fans all over the Etihad just like there were with Real Madrid fans.
The club are bullshitting mate

If a season card holder knowingly sells to an away supporter. And this supporter causes issues among home fans. Then is card should be confiscated

I thought the name of the company might be in the Chronicle article, but it isn’t.

I’ll Google it and find it.

On the plus side, Newcastle have listened to their fans, cancelled the tickets, and resold the tickets at face value back to Newcastle fans, who can now go and watch the match and support Newcastle.
Your last sentence is key. We have thousands of local fans who would go but can't afford to buy these package prices. There has to be a way we can get these fans back into the stadium. A stadium full of local fans would be far noisier.

Just been talking to 2 newcastle supporters who sit in the area concerned. They say that none of the block concerned are season ticket holders. These same tickets were on open sale for league games.
Which explains how the touting company could get 45 together, but doesn't explain why the club has said ST holders have been warned or had their tickets revoked. Unless ST holders in other areas have sold tickets to touting companies.

My experience has been the opposite. I’ve been happy to transfer my ticket for free to others when I can’t make a game but fellow blues have insisted on paying face value. Of course you get a better class of fan on Bluemoon
Not so much for me. Gave one free to a user with a sob story, difficult time, want to take my kid, not been for ages etc etc. turns out a couple of coked up blokes turned up. I also FV’d a champions league ticket to a lad who said he was in Istanbul but was he bollocks. I’ve not sent one to a fan on here since I’m afraid.

I've seen people claim this (and it may well be true) but why? How does it benefit the club?
If the game was massively overly subscribed it's not a good look to have 3 lots of Scottish school kids with zero interest in Newcastle in the seats ,questions would of been asked ,as it is they have solved the issue by blaming season ticket holders and fooled people on here they are an example we should look up to and aspire to be like .

I am never going to a home game again since I was not allowed to go to City/Plymouth because I have a PL post code.

I was wondering what the point of the thread was TBH.

Could well be the case.

About 5 years ago I took out a membership to get tickets for our game. Was able to purchase 3. Have not renewed the membership ever since but I still get an email a week before 1 of their home games offering me seats. A lot of the emails tell me I can choose whatever stand I want

Interesting.

We do get a lot of school kids and coach parties coming from Scotland. They normally sit in the North stand.
Always a coach load of kids sat towards the back of the Colin Bell level 3, too.

An interesting read from the Newcastle fans perspective.

You’ll have to sign into Xt to read the replies.

It reads like it was the club after all?

United and Barcelona lied about the same thing in recent years.

When Rangers took over Old Trafford recently, United came out and blamed their season ticket holders for selling their tickets on, even though Rangers fans were sat in large groups which would have been an incredible coïncidence for season ticket holders to all decide to not go in chunks of seats next to each other all over the ground by pure chance.

When Frankfurt had even more fans in the Camp Nou than Barça had, Barcelona came out and blamed their members for selling on their tickets even though all the Frankfurt fans were across one half of the stadium. Sgain, would take some doing for season ticket holders to all decide to not go in chunks of seats next to each other all over the ground by pure chance.

So I can definitely see Newcastle lying about it here n’all.

A new update from Newcastle United Football Club.

Newcastle United have cancelled more than 100 season tickets and apologised to supporters for an "oversight" after seats sold to tour organisers a decade ago were "not detected until recently".

The tour organisers bought the season tickets in the 2015-16 campaign.

I going to bet Newcastle knew about those tickets. 100 odd tickets all in the same section as well.

City do the exact same thing.
