Newcastle post match thread

But to be fair, Kompany and Mangala have bridged the gap until Stones is fit again.

I know but mangala should be starting until stones is fit or we get another centre back in. It affects peps options in games you have to draw a line at some point.

well done lads

i think KDB is getting the majority of the plaudits - and in a way thats good for sterling, the pressure is of him a bit. its not about his goal scoring record - its about when he has scored them. Sterling must have won you lads a lot of points. he is becoming quietly very important.
Quiet? We don't do quiet. Ask Jose.

Raz was awesome again tonight and it's good to see him being appreciated beyond our club.

Manchester City have had the best opening 20 matches (19 wins, 1 draw) in the history of the 5 major European leagues (England - Spain - Germany - Italy - France). [@2010MisterChip]

With 11 consecutive away wins going back to last season, Manchester City have now equalled the record set by Chelsea in 2008.

Another record falls at the hands of Pep's #SharkTeam

City are now unbeaten in 20 league games against Newcastle - a new club record (previous: 19 vs. Barnsley between 1898 and 1987)

Pep on Kompany's injury: "I don’t know. Unfortunately he’s injured again. Like in the last three years and we'll have to see how long it is."

Unfortunately we’ll have dips in our performances but what matters is we got through it and saw out the win. Some comments here are over the top.

Sterling MOTM closely followed by Otamendi.
Sterling was top class today, took his goal well and some of his dribbling was unreal. Confused him for Neymar a couple of times :)

Otamendi’s clearance was as good as a goal. Flawless in defense once again and looks a threat at set pieces.

Can’t understand the Jesus criticism, his first touch and link up play was great, should of had an assist for De Bruyne. He needs to learn to stay onside more often though.

Aguero played well. Was unlucky not to score. Didn’t have the easiest of chances tonight. Could of done better but it’s not like he was missing sitters.

Walker could of cost us a goal but other that one incident wasn’t as bad as many say here. Not his best game but he has had worse for us in the CL.

Shame Kompany got injured. Can’t understand how he often gets injured in the first minutes, quite strange. Hopefully we can manage to buy a CB in January. I know he wants to go to the WC but with his fitness, I’m not sure he is even worth a place to be brutally honest.

Ederson’s distribution was something else. Loved his diving gesture towards Gayle after his booking.
Good post

Are you high?

No but I was very high in the ground!!

I take it you disagree? When did we play worse?

And I’m not having a go at the team. We’ll have games like that. I’m chuffed to bits we had the resilience to come through and still win
