Not a fan, then? Personally, I don't mind them. It was always a great atmosphere there and the fans always seemed solid enough people to me.Great to see this shower struggling again.
Ah the atmosphere myth. Not once have they been better than City at St James. Not a fan, then? Personally, I don't mind them. It was always a great atmosphere there and the fans always seemed solid enough people to me.

Fat disgusting journalists waxing lyrical over fat disgusting geordies. Who'd have thunked it.Remember taking my younger brother to his first game with me in the late 70s and we're walking up to the ground and their feral fans were attacking the police horses. Inside things didn't improve. No love for that lot but the press seem to love them these days just because they take their shirts off and have to travel a long way.

My experience of St James Park (I have been there more than 20 times) is that the atmosphere is usually fantastic. It is much better than Anfield which is one of the most plastic fanbases in Europe. The Geordies did vanish in the 80s but so did the fans of most other clubs. They also have a great away following, as do their rivals Sunderland. It was dodgy in the 70s but so was everywhere. The geordies have had 24 years of solid attendances despite Mike Ashley, perhaps we should stop levelling untrue accusations at them the same way other wankers from other clubs do at us?
Where were you when you were shit does not apply ;)
