Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A belated like (again) also for your Oscar Bobb posts in the closed Academy thread. Yesterday was a good day for lots of reasons, Pep also seemed to enjoy himself.

I've been singing Bobb's praises for quite a while over his performances for the youths sides he sees things others don't, he played amazing and he's stepped up big time looking even better now and adapting quicker than expected.

He's a special talent it's clear to see and there wasn't many talking about him for a while when I mentioned him early last year, some had started to come around but a lot before that were more annoyed that he beat McAtee to academy player of the year the season before, it was arguable you can say James McAtee probably deserved but Bobb was also pulling strings too so I fought in Bobb's corner for the first comment.

He's here to stay and I can't wait to see him thrive in the long term, seeing the way Pep reacted to the goals last night then post match to Bobb he lives for it, he doesn't look like getting bored anytime soon so get that contract on the table for both Pep and Bobb.

Two things. One, you obviously watched him plenty at the academy level and two, while watching you knew what you were looking at...Props!

Mag here in peace.

Please win the title. If you pip Klopp and/or Arteta by a point, the pain of tonight will have felt in some way worth it.

Best team I've seen at SJP in 44 years bar none.
I’ve never forgotten your fans applauding our team off after we won at your place on the way to the title in 2012, the week before the Aguero moment. I was celebrating in your end and everyone was sound with me.

Bobb will be a game winner in the future.

His ability in closed/tiny spaces is fucking outstanding, as is his foot speed on the ball.

Very futsal-y.
I have watched Oscar's goal, over and over. His ball control was phenomenal - he actually fooled the goalie in thinking he would try to hit the ball under his body. No way, a quick one -two with his feet and he was past the goalie and stroking the ball into the net. And equally impressive - his coolness at such a late stage in the game with a goal that would conceivably give us three points.
