Thats not the point. If they did their job properly we wouldnt be having this conversation about missed chances.I’d rather look at Haaland’s fluffed chance early doors, Haaland’s shot straight at the keeper, Foden’s crap shot wide when half the goal was wide open for him, Foden’s shit control for that penalty incident to even happen when he was wide open in the box and a good first touch would have given him a chance to score… with us missing so many sitters today and 5 of our last 12 penalties, I don’t have much trust that we’d have scored the penalty had it been given anyway.
If we’re relying on referees after the amount of sitters we missed today, then we’re in trouble.
The ”leaping salmon" bit of the key point here. Have you ever seen Dias leap like that? I haven't.Exactly what I saw, same with the winner though, yet an AI sketch 10 mins later would prove what I saw with our own eyes was incorrect, with leaping salmon Dias playing him on
I'm not going to give my usual "bollocks" verdict that I give to this type of post as there are some fair comments, but like it or not that match was settled by the officials. Regardless of anything else we did enough to match them and the last two goals were scrambled so to suggest that they were the better team...they had the better chances do in that respect they were worse than we were given that they missed them all.I for one have just decided to never talk about refs and their horrible decisions and focus solely on the performance.
It could’ve been 4-4 after 45 mins. Haaland weirdly could’ve had a hattrick and Foden should’ve scored at least once. But Newcastle had way better clearer and more chances. If their striker was good acc we could’ve been thrashed.
I really missed Rodri, the only reason why we rely on Bernardo so much is because Reinjders hasn’t come good and that’s very frustrating. That we could only put out that team against a struggling side with a physical midfield.
bad day at the office. The defence was poor, all over the place, Nico g left to drown, our best creators couldn’t hold onto to the ball our best players both had their worst games of the season.
The subs are what set me off. Wrong timing, wrong combination. What was Pep thinking ? We all knew that Newcastle we’re gonna close up shop and he takes off Doku and Cherki who are the best against low blocks and puts uninspiring players. The only sub that made sense was Reinjders but what was the point of playing Marmoush for 5 mins ? The starting lineup was fine but it was clear after 55 mins that we were not gonna make it.
I’m not gonna give up on this team just yet, but maybe it was too naive to expect the worst side last season to magically turn into the best side and win the league.
What it proves beyond any shadow of a doubt is that the software

Think it will be closer to 70 points myself. Were not the same team we once were imo.Didn't know where else to put this but after 12 games under Pep in each season we've been:
(The points we finished on)
2025: 3rd, 22 points
2024: 2nd, 23 points (71)
2023: 1st, 28 points (91)
2022: 2nd, 29 points (89)
2021: 2nd, 26 points (93)
2020: 9th, 20 points (86)
2019: 4th, 25 points (81)
2018: 1st, 32 points (98)
2017: 1st, 34 points (100)
2016: 3rd, 27 points (78)
I think we'll finish between 75-80 points this year, which is fine. Got to be going for the league next season, though.
CorrectSo did they though to be fair.
What is he supposed to do on his own?Need help from the others in midfieldObviously he isn’t totally to blame for that defeat and others were arguably worse including Phil Foden and Cherki who did no where near enough.
Gonzalez was more in terms of functionality when you need a higher gear and level. A world class 6 really makes a difference in those games.
Micha Richards didn't think it was a penalty. The mind boggles.F**K me that Foden penalty was a stone waller. Diabolical decision from Var. Not sure about the winner. Looked off to me. Crappy angles, they're not even looking straight across.
I like Richards but that’s a joke. The handball should be a pen as well. Both arms in front of body is not natural. If that’s anywhere else on pitch handball is given. On goal line that’s a pen and a red.Micha Richards didn't think it was a penalty. The mind boggles.
I hope he’s no longer a club ambassador.Micha Richards didn't think it was a penalty. The mind boggles.
