We are so good, that the referees are looking for the reasons not to give the penalty for us and looking for the reasons to give the penalties against us.Where does it say in the laws of football that it's not a pen if the ball has already gone? It was a clear foul and dangerous play as well.
Touched on if much earlier in the thread , I’m done with it , I can’t sit and watch and enjoy a game of ours on the tv , fine at the ground live but the telly ? Sick to the back fkin teeth, relentless slagging , relentless cheating / reffing / var I get they all fkin hate us but fk me it’s so obviousI certainly do. The decisions have become ridiculous and the bullshitting attached to them even more so.
If a tackle is “late” and it connects with the player, it becomes a foul at that point.
There is literally no law, nor interpretation of any law, that could lead to any honest professional referee not giving a penalty yesterday.
They are bent.
Let's go for extremes. If the tackle was so late that the ball was already out of play then it's a red (or yellow against us) card and a goal kick.Where does it say in the laws of football that it's not a pen if the ball has already gone? It was a clear foul and dangerous play as well.
Something occurred to me was that now if VAR intervenes the ref has to explain to the crowd what’s happening, the ref last night was comparatively inexperienced and seemed out of his depth, maybe Pawson thought he couldn’t handle having that additional pressure, they do after all cover each others backs. Just a thought.Let's go for extremes. If the tackle was so late that the ball was already out of play then it's a red (or yellow against us) card and a goal kick.
As for the one at Arsenal a few years ago. There was a comment at the time suggesting the pen was given as the fouled player might have got to the loose ball had Eddie not brought him down. That didn't apply yesterday, nor on several occasions over the years when players have stayed on their feet to shoot after being fouled. Raz v Spuds about ten years ago as an obvious example.
I can accept the ref missing it, but not the clowns on VAR who see it several times from multiple angles.
This is why we need a laughing emoji…I think we will kick on and come close next season we will be champions I believe. Bobb savinio and reninders going will improve us!
I agree, much better for me when at the match. If I have.to watch it on tv I Just turn the sound off. Its far less stressful than listening to the shit pundits all cheering for our opponents to win. Really fucks me off.Touched on if much earlier in the thread , I’m done with it , I can’t sit and watch and enjoy a game of ours on the tv , fine at the ground live but the telly ? 100% they should. It's now very clear the AI the PL have deployed is not up to the job. It can't track players or recognise when player is jumping or not. It needs scrapping and going back to the older system which would have worked and called the offside correctlyIMO City should be asking questions of VAR as to how the decision involving Dias playing a Newcastle player onside was arrived at, particularly which image was used to arrive at this decision.
Also why was the referee not advised to go to the monitor and view the Foden incident?
Should the club be requesting the PL major decisions panel do a review as they did for the Liverpool disallowed goal?
Any punters on here with connections in the club if you're bothered and have the time who can put these questions to the club?
The last PL game we came back to win after going behind was Palace at home last season. That comeback was solely down to the sheer will and determination of one player, Kevin de Bruyne. The same KDB who dragged us back from the dead against Villa to win the title.Leaving the ref, var aside, we had our usual problem.
Losing with a few minutes to go, and we're passing amongst ourselves, 5 yards in front of their penalty area, with precious few attempts.
20 years ago, prime rags would've BOMBARDED their keeper. I barely remember a decent attempt, after going 2-1 down, last night.
Just for once, shouldn't we be a bit more direct and actually test the opposition, instead of fannying around?
Feed off it mate.Touched on if much earlier in the thread , I’m done with it , I can’t sit and watch and enjoy a game of ours on the tv , fine at the ground live but the telly ? We haven't got the same calibre of players, so no, we won't.Well, wake up and get used to the FACT that we will NEVER experience the levels of sustained greatness that we did over the last decade.
If I could 'like' this post x100 times. The last PL game we came back to win after going behind was Palace at home last season. We simply have no midfielder who has the balls to take a game by the scruff of the neck when we concede the first goal.
How many Rag (historically), or dipper (usually) or Arse (currently) games do we watch where they go a goal down and we all know what's coming. With us at the moment, we concede, the oppo drop off and we revert to type. Sideways, back, probe, corner after corner with no end result.
So, we best get used to it. If we concede the first goal this season, we lose. If we score the first goal we win, it's that simple.
Until we find our new KDB, new Yaya, new Merlin, this won't change folks.
Agree. We were hopeless yesterday when we went behind. 25 mins to go and we did nothing. The last PL game we came back to win after going behind was Palace at home last season. Duly bookmarkedThere are times in life. moments that go against you, when the strongest among us stand back and say what the fuck is this shit!
Yesterday that happened and i believe we will use this as some sort of circling the wagons event, a line in the sand, a call to arms, that bonds a group of people who were already together but needed a little extra kick up the arse.
Guardiola, his staff, and the players, like us, know we were properly shafted and often when stuff like this happens it can be that extra bit of motivation that actually makes the ones with the biggest balls stand up and be counted.
The leaders in the dressing room will see this as a them against us moment and use it as the reason to build fires and burn this shitshow down to the ground through utter passionate determination to overcome all the odds in our faces.

Kind of how that works. We haven't got the same calibre of players, so no, we won't.
