Got back early hours, rain really came down, but really enjoyed the game yesterday. Thought Kova was excellent, should start each game alongside Rodri. Akanji also played very well and probably our best defender right now. Thought Gvardiol had a good game as well. Loved Ruben’s run forward. Phil is unplayable right now. Thought Doku had as good game. Bernie back in form. Shout out to Stefan as well, that save was excellent. When Bobb came on you could feel the expectation in the crowd. This lad is going to save us a fortune. The way he moves and is aware of what is going on around him. Good professional performance. Going to be a big part of the first team next season.

They turned up and made a lot of noise supporting their team. They knew they were out before half-time so just had a sing song.
Compare that to our quarter final defeat at Blackburn under Pearce when there was a lot of blue v blue animosity. Perhaps they believe the overrated Howe will get it right one day.

There are aspects of their support that reminds me of ours pre our takeover. We were still classed as a big club in spite of not winning anything for 35 years. We prided ourselves on our loud and loyal support because it was all we had. Remember the"34 years and we're still here!" song?

My mate’s kid was hit on the head by some wanker throwing coins from the 2nd tier. She’s alright thankfully. Fair play to City though, he reported it and by the time we’d got to the pub they called him and invited them all to another game.

The element of 'cheating' by refs is just this. It's a nailed on yellow but because he's already on one they feel they will suffer a personal aneurism if the card comes out of the pocket. Blatant cheating by the whistling wanker and every body knows it, including the culprit, the recipient, the crowd, the tv audience, oh yeah, and all those at the fuckin' Blaydon Races.

I don't know where folk get these ideas of 'shit' from. My seat neighbour doesn't particularly like Doku's contribution and compares it to Sterling, but today he had to admit when I said that he frightens defenders he begrudgingly agreed. Once he takes on board Pep's instructions to the letter and gets a few assists under his belt he'll realise his full potential. The way he leaves challengers in his wake over a two yard stretch and opens up the play is a very valuable asset.
