Considering what this team has achieved over the past six years I think you're being overly pessimistic (if not a little disrespectable) to say a draw at home to Newcastle is a good result.
Have you seen the state of our squad? We're missing some of our most important and experienced players, and we have nothing off the bench to change a game. We're playing a Champions League side that has improved their squad this summer and is bang in form.

I'd take a draw right now.

Maybe he will have to pkay Phillips. Do7ble pivot with Rodri...Phillips ain't the best but he is the type of player that would be up gor a physical battle at least
????
their midfield three of Bruno, Tonali & Joelinton would absolutely destroy him.

nowhere near good enough on the ball for a game of this magnitude

Haaland …..never take a draw

This squad has proved time and time and time and time again, even when we have injuries, that we win.

We won the league with Delph at left back.

We won the league without a centre forward.

These players have shown they have an incredible capacity to win football matches - whoever is available.

We obviously don't win every game but given what we've seen over recent history I will never go into a game not believing we'll win it - especially at home against Newcastle.

We're going to have Ederson, Walker, Akanje, Ake, Gvardiol, Rodri, Kovacic, Foden, Grealish, Alvarez and Haaland to choose from.

Not bad really.

I don't think it's disrespectful, you don't win games based on what you previously achieved - the stats about "haven't lost to whoever for x years" have zero bearing on the next game you play against them.
I'd take a draw based on where both teams currently are. We're a minimum of 3 key players worse off than last season as it stands, and we're undercooked as per. But we'll get better as the season progresses as we do under Pep.

You don't win games based on what you've previously achieved but having won the treble 12 weeks ago, won our opening game away comfortably against a newly promoted team and won the Super Cup on Wednesday night is a pretty good indicator we're a hell of a team.

Conversely, the evidence for Newcastle being the reincarnation of Brazil 1970 is one victory at home against Aston Villa and finishing 18 points behind us last season.

You just proved my point. You can only name 11 players. And by the way, Alvarez has a knock.
