Howe is an awful appointment.
Did a great job getting Bournemouth promoted but the players he brought in whilst in the PL were awful and he didn't develop them.
The thing is, he did an okay job with Bournemouth, can't really call it great as they spent a lot of money, significantly more than a club like Burnley.

He's never managed any level of success outside of the south coast though.

Not a manager that is going to influence big name players to the club.
Can see it possibly panning out like the City appointment of Hughes.
They are starting from a waaaay worse position though.
Interesting to see what happens.

City managed to sign Vincent Kompany, Robinho, Carlos Tevez, Gareth Barry, Emmanuel Adebayor and Shay Given, while Mark Hughes was our manager.Not a manager that is going to influence big name players to the club.

I think he did a great job getting them to the Premier League. I think the job he did in the Premier League was as expected though.
He spent £250m in the 5 seasons they were in the Premier League and they never once looked defensively solid. Burnley for example have only spent £150m in that time and for the most part been a lot more solid than Bournemouth ever were.
Newcastle are worse than any Bournemouth side he had as well.
