I'm pretty sure the comments towards Ireland are happening because of the comments he made about city over the last few days.
Also he did say he was 1 of the best, if not the best footballer at city. He is really NOT proving that today.

I think if both said players had not had digs in the media upon their departure they would not be in for such critique .. also the point that Villa are a competitor, i want them to get nothing out of this ..

It's only one game, as soon as Bradley comes in Villa will improve and so will Ireland. He'll never have a season as good as he had in 08-09 in that team though.

No one seriously begrudges him moving to further his career (at Villa though?). It's his blabbing to the press that has annoyed so many people. He only had to say something like;
''I'm disappointed with the way things had turned out for me at City. However, I hope to do well for Villa and help in their chase for domestic and European honours''. That wouldn't have been that difficult really, would it? What he did was petty and lacking in class, IMO. Dunney probably had just as much to moan about as Ireland (more indeed, seeing as he had had several good seasons for us compared to the one that Ireland had), but the difference is he (by and large) kept his mouth shut and got on with having a good season for Villa last year.

So do I playing for Villa on this form !

Hes a good lad and did well for us, he has shown on this performance, which he always comes up with a good few times a season why hes not a top 4 defender though.

When we are constantly getting greif from other fans and the press for letting players like Ireland and Dunne go you have to accept that many of us are going to enjoy them putting in these bad performances.

Stevie still goes with my best wishes, his comments dont really bother me, but its hardly endeared him to large sections of our support.

No where near as bad as the way Bellamy was behaving behind the scenes mind.
