I'm not so sure about this... it's an F A Cup weekend fifth round tie, so why wouldn't he field a strong team?

I would be concerned with him getting an injury on the rugby pitch.

Tbh he is more likely to be injured playing on the Premierleague’s hard pitches then playing on a pitch like this.
There were no injuries in the Newport/Boro match and it was pissing it down that night.

Plenty of tough matches to come and a fixture congestion to worry about. I think this is a chance to rest everyone and make sure there's enough energy for the big push during the hectic period to come.

Apparently Pep has done his homework with regards Newports pitch. We are training at the swamp this week. He is a bloody genius .

Pitch looks considerably worse than Wembley was for the Tottenham Hotspur game, and we know that that had an impact on our touch and control of the match. The flanks look okay, at Newport, so the wide men should be able to have a clear run. Best to put two solid players in the midfield, simply because the ball will be bobbling around, and to use the widest parts of the pitch to stretch and tire them.
