Jonno is due to be back in full training this week? any truth in this i thought he already was in full training? Could do with him to give a more attacking option from middle of the park ?

He is supposed to be back in training this coming week but I would not hold your breath. He has been in training before and it hasn't lasted and he will have to do some serious one to one training with fitness specialists before he starts any work with the full squad.

IS it true what some of the other lads have said that he has put on the beef? Hopefully he srews the head on and gets back to doing what we know he can do

he would'nt be the first young player to lose his way. i look forward to him getting back in a blue shirt because he has the tools to be a top midfielder for this club.
It seems the club have given him as much time as needed to sort his "problems" out and showed great faith in him by turning down a big newcastle bid. Its easy to slate him but he clearly has problems but he'll be all the stronger for it.

This site has him down to return on 22nd March , as it does with Petrov too ...... so next week is probably the right time for him to return to some form of training.

Anyone else think this was going to be about a story in the front, rather than the back, of the paper? :(

was expecting a very drunk MJ involved in drunken sex video shame or something along those lines

Not only did we turn down Toons bid but I nderstand he didn't want to go either. The lad has more than enough skill about him to be as good if not better than Stevie Ireland and with all this 6 + 5 nonsense being English it makes sense to get him back to his best, whether that can be done this season or the next is immaterial. Whatever it takes in my view. The best football I have seen us play was when he was on top of his game and with Elano. Strange that the last time we won this season at Sunderland he was in the side with Ireland and SWP!!!!!!

Better than Steve Ireland? Stevie is talented, a worker, commited to the team, and does extra training. Johnson has a long way to go to get anywhere near him. All he is currently is a good unproven prospect who lost his way, got too much money too early, and chose a dubious lifestyle. Not convinced.

Agree what you say about Ireland but its only this season (as he says himself) where he got a wake up call and has actually come good, he was frustrating himself last year. Johnson was great when he first came into the team, IMO ability, physique and footballing brain better than anything to come out of the academy in recent years. Hopefully he gets a wake up call a la Ireland cos it'd be a shame if it went to waste.
