Next 3 games

There have been signs that the striker shortage is affecting us so I can see us dropping points in the next two games. On the assumption Sergio is back I fancy us to win the six pointer at Chelsea though.

Agreed. We've managed exceptionally well without a forward for the last 6 games, but the standard of the opposition has been a faciltating factor in that. Without a striker you're necessarily limited in the ways you can play, needing for the most part to move the whole team carefully up the pitch as a unit to then apply the squeeze around the edge of the box. Ya Ya has been instrumental in conducting the team during this period, and it's no coincidence that the one game he missed ended in a disappointing draw at home to Burnley. Counterattacking certainly becomes very difficult without a natural focal point to your attack.

Certainly I would expect us to be far less able to control games against teams like Everton and Arsenal, simply because they will be better versed at keeping possession than Leicester or Palace, and with Ya Ya absent, much will depend on whether Dzeko or Kun is able to feature in either game.

id be happy with 5 points providing 3 of them is off chelsea

That could mean they earn 6/9 and us 5/9. They'd be a point up :/

quite true but considering we have no strikers we would have come out of this period pretty good, i had us down to being 4 points adrift at this stage, we are better off at this stage than all of us expected six weeks ago

We have done exceptionally well considering the striker shortage. It wouldn't be the end of the world to be a point behind Chelsea in February. Who knows, Chelsea could drop a couple of points at Swansea, that'd be pretty good, bit of incentive and all that. Although, in typical City fashion, we don't do capitalizing and we'd probably take the hard route by getting beat at Stamford Bridge.

Strangely enough my biggest worry is Arsenal at home because let's face it home games have been our achilles heel this season.

As long as we beat chelsea out those 3 games the most we can be behind chelsea is 3 points after those 3 games

When has the team not turned up at home against the big sides?
Arsenal aren't burnley or west ham

We haven't taken one on without a striker yet. Come on boys, get well soon.

Highlights the importance of the Chelsea game (if it needed highlighting). A win at Stamford Bridge would be huge, but I'd take a draw if offered one.
