Next Captain

I'd still find it funny if they said "And number XX, and of course your new captain, Craaaaaig Bellamy' and then there's a total silence.

Micah...jobs for the boys. 20 year-old kid, done nothing to earn it this season or last. Hughes' choice of course, but I'd like to see him make a break with the past. It seems a bit of a joke that Micah would be even considered for the job. That's what the best teams do you know; give the arm-band to a 20 year-old who has never demonstrated leadership, who flaps his arms when stressed, and who has enough on his plate just playing the game (without worrying about anyone else).

Kompany.

Micah, simply 'cos he is vice captain.

Otherwise i fear his moralwill go through the floor - and he will play even worse.

Is he vice-captain? I thought no-one knew who it was this season. You think he's been playing badly this season? Not so badly he ought to be dropped though (some blokes are immune, and we have such a strong squad we can't even drop Mr. Blobby). I suppose whether it's in the best interests of the team is not to be considered, just whether it's good for Micah (or Dunne...).

We're never going to get anywhere so long as we have to live with this (not yours mate) mentality at City. There's still too much of the pre-Hughes old boys stuff in the club for me.

Micah will with abit of luck one day be our captain. It's good experience for him. Although I'd have a word with quite Vinnie, if I were Hughes to tell him to keep an eye on things.

Why? Does he have an outstanding football brain? Is he a proven world-class player? Is he a leader of men? Or is he just some kid bigged up cos it made us all feel better about City.

He's got amazing potential, probably the second best player we've produced in recent years. He's only 20. Most players don't even break into the first team regularly until roughly his ages, yet he's got plenty of experience on them. I'm not saying he's the finished article just yet but he'll only improve. One day Micah will be a world class player.

Fair enough, we can all hope he won't be like plenty of others who end up finding their level is not what they and everyone thought it would be; but even if he was the best full-back in the world, still doesn't mean he's captain material. Our next captain should be someone who is mature, and can actually inspire, and doesn't just look good because he's surrounded by rubbish.
