Next Captain

I suspect Vinnie will be with us for a good few seasons yet, in the meantime it will be shared between himself,Dinho and Silva depending on who plays. Of the current squad Stones is the obvious shout, but KDB and Gundogan are both potential suitors too. Plus whoever else we bring in to replace others over the years.

Dave is doing a grand job, calming down the players after the first goal saying keep focussed
Very quiet demeanor but a real leader on the pitch, commands respect and delivers the performances every week. Del Bosque once said that Silva had the "biggest balls" in the Spain national team which for me says it all when many will be looking at Pique, Ramos and so forth.

In a team full of such big personalities, he could be at danger of coming across as boring. But look at how the players are with him, the utmost respect for a player that has won everything the game has to offer, bar the Champions League.

Dave seems like one of those players that have that aura about him, he does his talking with his feet and is the model pro. A man of his calibre doesn't have to talk much to gain the respect of the people in the room. When Vinny is absent, this guy is our club captain until he leaves.

I agree, keeps himself to himself publicly but I have no doubt that he is a great guy to be around. Foden and Brahim aligning themselves with him both in terms of his attitude and on the pitch is great to see and I am sure Dave will lead them both the right way.
