Next Captain

Gundogan must have been fully jabbed because he was in America with his [at the time] fiancé back in January.
He said he had one jab (which might have been enough in January) and before he got the booster he caught covid in June and has to wait several weeks before he can be boostered (maybe during the next intl break?).

Anyway, great captain, top bloke, smart with strong media competence. His calmness, focus and experience when to do what could influence the squad even more.

Btw, his movement pre goal at West Ham looked like Sergio in his best days, top striker's ball processing.

Agreed, who wouldn't want free ice creams after the game ? I'd listen to him.

Being serious you would think Kev would be an obvious choice but maybe Pep thought it might affect his game which seems to have gone up a level already. I'm good with Gundog, he's probably well respected by the lads.
Pep didn't decide the captain, the players did.

Good choice, a really gifted player, always a smile on his face, and obviously popular with his team-mates. Also gives KdB freedom to play his natural game without the burden of captaincy
When we went 2-0 down to Villa, KDB gave the team a hurry up signal. They responded!

When did we first have this system? I'm pretty sure we didn't always. Was it start of Pep?
I'm pretty sure Pep introduced it at the start of the 2019-20 season following Vincent K's retirement. While Vinnie was still around, there were never any questions asked about who should or shouldn't be first choice as captain.

I like him a lot and his experience and composure will surely help us on and off the field. (Sorry for reminding you of that cursed game again)
