Next Manager after Pep

Bet city don’t even know who the next manager will be because they’ll be hoping pep signs another extension

Think that our next manage will probably be Luis Enrique tbh it makes the most sense, he knows our style perfectly and is a man of high demands similar vein to Pep... He's a fitness freak does ironman triathlons and marathons I saw that when he takes charge of a team, the first thing he does is have a fitness training camp to prove he's fitter than many of his squad players... And then challenges them to reach their peak fitness levels.
If he gets out of his players anywhere near like how he was as a player effort wise... Then we'd be laughing cos he genuinely made James Milner seem a lazy fucker.
He's learning English too and like Pep has a good relationship with Txiki and Ferran.

Whenever the fateful day Pep departs from City (yes there will be tears & lots of them) I would hope we would consider acquiring Luis Enrique's services. Looks tailor made for us & if it wasn't for the lack of a competent striker (sound familiar) Spain would have beaten Italy in this year's Euros.

My only concern I would have with this hypothetical appointment is if Enrique takes charge of City & becomes successful his old flame Barca will be courting him to return to the 'motherland'.

I think if he Luis Enrique takes charge and Fernandinho wants to stay here as a coach with his willingness to learn, then he'll already be learning a lot from Pep so by time Enrique arrives should that happen, then it could help further mentor Ferny to be a future manager possibly succeeding the manager following Pep... I've always thought he'll become a manager at some point Fernandinho, due to his leadership the fact he knows about 6 or 7 different languages fluently and he's always meant to be hanging on every one of Pep's words too! Whether he's a great manager or not I dunno but we will defo be wanting people who know our philosophy, and Fernandinho thanks to his position knows more than most if not all of our players post takeover, he seems to know where all his teammates are and is already giving team talks to the squad he seems fully comfortable.
Shakhtar's manager Mircea Lucescu was known as an innovator for his expansive style of play, his fast high energy attacks and Fernandinho was fascinated with any game plan he used to instruct, they'd discuss things with him hours on end cos he wanted to learn everything... promoting from within was always a Barca thing to do and it wouldn't surprise me if we could follow their lead there with Fernandinho.

Thing with Barca too is Xavi is earmarked and wants to become their manager at some point, if Koeman (usually a clown manager) is somehow successful that'll possibly delay the arrival of Xavi. Plus they've got the likes of Puyol, Pique, Iniesta, Busquets and others from that era and before who might become managers they'll also be in the running, they'd probs want Enrique at some point I've no doubt but he may be seen as too expensive to our advantage, if their situation doesn't massively improve it might be seen as too excessive his wage demands and they'll be wanting to curb the spending ways of Bartomeu.

Go with that one mate

Was there nothing Mancini did with the team ever that bothered people? Or is it only Pep that does that?
Personally, all the actual fighting with Ballotelli.
Tactically, the farcical game in his last year where he switched the team to three at the back, we fell apart, then moved back to a back four. Can't remember the opposition...

Maybe this is Peps last season just because of all the unrest the last season as manager it will be.. think it be smoother come end of season city announce pep as left and we have appointed a new manager then have all summer to bed in..

We won titles before pep and we will win them again so I’m not worried in the slightest .

I’d love to see Mancini back! But I guess the club hierarchy wouldn’t.

There aren’t many candidates around. Pochettino perhaps. I feel it’s more likely it’ll be someone doing ok in Spain or Germany with an average side that try and play the Pep style game.

It’s really fucking disappointing getting this news the same day as Kane snubbing us though, very poor timing by Pep to bring it up now. Unless he’s pissed off at not getting Kane or any decent striker and decided he’s had enough.

When you look at the succession planning when losing Vinny, Merlin, Sergio & maybe Yaya, you could say we’ve had some mixed results in terms of immediate success, but got their in the end by winning our title back in at least the following season.
The Yaya situation was ironed out by appointing Pep & a shift in playing style, Merlin was a case of utilising several players (maybe Jack is the air to the throne?) Ruben has been a success albeit a season too late, and Sergio’s replacement is looking more a last minute gamble.
And you could say the same applies to our previous managerial appointments, so maybe we should just trust the club, we ‘will’ get it right & a lot sooner than the rags or say a Barca, our model looks similar to Bayern (not a bad thing) as mentioned above Luis Enrique looks the best fit, it would be six months after a World Cup (fully rested & maybe inter-grated into the club) is a job swap for him & Pep that unrealistic? Either way this looks like Pep is timing this for after a World Cup where several top jobs will be in the offing, from a selfish point I hope it’s not England, his shadow would lurk heavily over the club should we not be immediately successful, you can imagine the press
