Next Rail Strikes Announced.

If Transpenine good chance it will be cancelled.

Yeah, it is and that's my fear. Even if there's no strike action, the time table is littered with warnings about their short cancellations just now.

I'm only 15 minutes from Edinburgh Waverley, but a short notice cancellation of the 8:12 service leaves me screwed for a 12:30 KO so just have to keep fingers crossed. If I find out it's cancelled by 7am - I'll likely jump in the car and be beer-less for the day!

jeez I wish I could strike when I got pissed off over things.
This is a completely differerent working world to what I am in. I'd get the sack if I complained of anything.

Don't want to take this off topic, but exactly the reason why Trade Unions were formed. Imagine if none existed, the UK would be one giant sweatshop, working for a pittance, on zero hours contracts all over, no sick pay, no holidays and getting 1 day a week off and fired at the whim of your employee with no severance package.

Never understood the desire for workers to demand that others who are better organised, should be forced downwards, while doing nothing about non-tax paying multinationals or Leadership Teams on millions a year and being rewarded even when they fail.

Anyways, good luck Blues who are travelling on the strike days and I hope you find alternatives.

I regularly work (and have worked) unpaid hours, received no sick pay and currently working with no contract of employment!

Thankfully invertebrates like yourself, who are happy to take it up the arse, are in the minority, otherwise we would exist in a society where all were working 72hrs a week with no holidays,no benefits, and no protection/rights.

Rail workers, and others in similar environments, are only fighting for basic entitlement, they aren't making unreasonable demands and only desire to enjoy/maintain a deserved decent standard of living.

Recognise this isnt a race to the bottom, and support the Union action rather than criticising their efforts and succumbing to Tory thinking.

Going to try the day trip on Saturday for the first time this season.
Spend more time checking trains are running etc
