Next season expectations

One thing I am certain about. With Mancini gone, my expectations have dropped.

This.....if its pellegrinni i think we'll struggle to get top 4.In fact anyone available bar Mourinho and i think we'll be fighting for 3rd/4th with Arse/Spuds.Chelsea with Mourinho and scum will finish well ahead.

Personally I would have been happy with last season had we not performed like a bunch of wankers in the cup final.

Next season a cup, top 3 and knockout stages of CL would do for me.

I would expect Pellegrini will have to deliver at least the above to keep his job.
Obviously if we win the league and go out
Of all cups early then that's different but
If we finish outside top 2 and don't win anything or get through group stages again then he could be in trouble.

I think Pellegrini may struggle a bit in the first half of the season but pick up in the latter stages as he comes to terms with the Premier League and his squad. I have doubts about him but it would be daft not to give him at least a season.

Well I wanted Mancini out because of the tactics he played and his style was very bad as it turned out many of squad were unhappy with him but most of all I was thinking we couldhave lot better results with a maagaer able to bring the best outof the players/squad ad we are just wasting time ewith Mancini.

And since then we changed manager and spent 90m for improving the squad. So it's clear that I want improvment in results.
Finishing third in the league, another CL group fiasco and no domestic cup success would be clearly worse than Mancini's record last year, dont think that can happen with a new manager who is upgrade on Mancini and with the 4 new players signed early.
If this happens then something is really wrong.

CL is hard, there are Real, Barca, Dortmund, Bayern and maybe Chelsea now with Mourinho I would call them the main favourites.
But would PSG be delighted with getting to the 1/8 finals and then lose there? Dont think so and we shouldnt be either.
We have to look for a 1/4 finals at least and maybe going to the semifinals if it is possible. (If not because we face eg. Bayern to get into the semis at least we have to play two close matches vs them.)

So it has tobe at least 1/4 finals for me in the CL, I think the squad is strong enough for that, in the last 3 years teams like Malaga, Galatasaray, Marseille, Benfica, APOEL (Cyprus), Sahtar, Tottenham, Schalke could reach 1/4 finals next to the usual top teams.
We have lot stronger squad then these named teams.

CL group fiasco cannot happen 3 times in a row, that would be horrible simply, financial loss also.

Pellegrini was brought in to improve the playing style and trough that also the results. He said himself in the last few days he think we have the best squad in the PL.
Can he make the best squad finish 1st? Its up to him.

He hasn't achieved half as much as Mancini has so at this stage he's hardly an upgrade, hopefully that will change.

We are taking a pretty big gamble with Pellegrini considering his record and the fact he's walked in to a dressing room full of egos that have all won more than him.

I currently think Chelsea are favourites for the league, but next season I think Pellegrini has to win a trophy to justify the quality of our team.

It was be a massive failure on our players if they went two seasons without a trophy with the amount of quality we have.

The Champions League is all about luck and form, there is a group of teams who you can see winning it - I would put us in that group - but it all depends on the form of the team going into the big games.

On paper I think we have a team that can make the final, winning it is a different beast, but wether or not in reality we can make it happen remains to be seen.

What I'll be happy with:
PL: First, second or third, as long as Rags are behind us
Domestic cups: QF
UCL: Qual from group stage
Plus good performances.

What I predict:
PL: Second (Chavski to win)
Domestic cups: QF in FA Cup, SF in L Cup
UCL: Round of 16
Plus performances going from ok to good the further the season progresses.
