Firstly. Most of the other contenders will be in the same boat with players on international duty. Secondly, last season we got off to a flyer and failed to mount a sustained challenge. If we can qualify for the CL league stages and get 10 points from our first 5 games we will be well placed to be in with a shout of building up a serious challenge. I fully expect us to be serious contenders unless there is one side which is well ahead of the pack and capable of clocking up 90 points. Not sure anyone will do this however.

The other clubs are not quite in the same boat because they don't have to win a cl qualifier in August. The truncated pre season and the need to have a squad of 18 players prepared to go in mid August will affect recruitment decisions. There will probably be fewer changes to the squad than would otherwise be the case.

Don't agree with this injury excuse. It can be the difference in a tight contest but when you limp across the line 15 points behind the winner who clocks 81 points you have to look to other reasons. However, I do concur that replaying Pell's faults at this stage is indeed pointless.

My point is that injuries is likely to be a big part of the reason however culpable the manager may have been. The fact is that with exactly the same manager we finished first and second the two previous seasons.
This season with the same coaching staff, a stronger looking squad than last we were miles off the pace. I find it hard to conceive that injuries were not a big factor.

I think we'll win it. The Prem that is. In a very tight race with Arsenal and United.

Can't predict Chumps League finish. I dunno. Semi Finals perhaps. Might be too much to ask for such a historic double under first season with Pep. 2nd season ;)
