Next seasons home shirt (allegedly)

Why is it naive. You think city had input into the brand of football shirt Nike are going with this season. Find me evidence to say we have any say in our shirt under the Nike deal
There are plenty of teams using the same template where the sleeves are a similar colour to the torso ..
Imagine telling Brazil your going to have red sleeves or something

I totally get where you and @urban genie are coming from. Maybe I'm allowing the badge to cloud my judgement on the shirt.

My most hated City kit ever was the Stuart Pearce / Joey Barton kit with white sleeves and blue shorts. Simply not a City kit. Some weird Arsenal / Coventry hibrid.

Nike are making every single kit this year with different coloured sleeves so I knew we were going to get it. For me the darker blue sleeves look a million miles better than the white sleeves I mentioned above. Of course I'd prefer sky blue, but for one year as a complete one off I can live with it.

What I don't want to live with is blue shorts every alternate season. City seem to be trying to make this combination part of our every day identity and I'm not having it. Not City at all to me.

well we could have had England sleeves. Some of the kits have negligible difference in colour between shirt and sleeves, we could have had 2 tone sky blue a la 2010/11 (to some degree) with white trim and it would have been a great shirt. The navy ruins it.

Looks like this could be the away kit too for 16/17... tim

Looks similar to the Wigan away kit from 2012

Well I believe you hand over the rights to the club image as part of the contract. Nike have paid for the rights and in that they reap the profits from all sales including those in our own club shop, if it has the nike tick on they profit from the sale. Nike will hardly employ people to design shirts and then let people say no. Be the most unprofitable business model on earth considering the money they dish out to the football clubs

Brazil told Nike to fuck off when they tried to give them this template – they wanted to give them yellow shorts... but Brazil wouldn't have it – their kit is a classic, yet Nike wanted to shit on that tradition!
The Rags too... there's no way Nike would have give them this template - they wouldn't accept red shorts!
So, why do we not tell them to go fuck themselves too!
