Will be like a long awaited boxing match!! City have had a decent preseason tour and so have munu, but it all starts next Sunday! manu will be still hurting from us kicking them out the fa cup and then going on to win it, and then getting battered in the champs league we need to do the same knock their confidence out of them for the coming season, send them back to their dressing room thinking Wow what the fuck!! hope we don't get them in the champs league in the later stages say the semi finals and they beat us because then people will see the balance of football power has shifted
and probably for the next 30 years with over 25 league titles 20 FA cup 15 champs league cups 22 league cups super cups 22

So boys and girls put ya! gum Shields in and grab ya! pop corn candy floss and season tickets or remote control cause here we go again, it was the best ride yet last season the ride is improving it is giving me euphoric feelings I'm sure I came in my pants at least once last season I'm not sure!! but i feel happy and taller fitter and more positive..fastforward 19 season we have won the last 19 and just about to start the 20th old traford is a Tescos super store and park and ride man who....Manchester City

it would give us the confidence to win the league imo

Fergie using City clash to run rule over new arrivals
Manchester United have vowed to treat next Sunday's Community Shield as part of their pre-season campaign despite the "tasty" nature of their clash with Manchester City.
It is less than four months since City overcame their old rivals in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, the penultimate stage in ending a 35-year trophy drought.
On the same day Roberto Mancini's men were completing that significant task, United secured their record 19th league title, ensuring the most significant warm-up for the Premier League campaign will be between the two Manchester giants for the first time since 1956.
It seemed certain the significance of the occasion would have some bearing on Alex Ferguson's tactics.
However, United assistant-manager Mike Phelan is adamant the match will be used for fitness, even if the stakes are rather higher than normal.
"It is no different," said Phelan. "It is a tasty one, of course, because it is the two Manchester clubs coming up against each other. But we may try out a few new things. We have a week to prepare. The FA Cup semi-final was disappointing. But this is a new season.
"We will have a look at a few new players to see if they can handle it and take us into the league. That is what it is all about. Manchester United is all about challenges. You get them every day. Next Sunday will be no different."

Do you believe this shite, I for one don't, CS rules state got to play best team unless that has been reversed by FA given 25 man squads. Shakin Bacon will have his best team out.
