Neymar Transfer and its Effects on us

They have "sponsorship" with Qatar Tourism Authority for €100m a year that boosts their commercial revenue. Dodgy as hell.
I'm sure I heard a French journalist on talksh*t recently describe the main sponsors of PSG ,ie the Qatar tourism authority as 'an arm of government'.
Surely this constitutes 'state aid' which is forbidden under UEFA rules?
Anyone have a clue on this?

I think they 'sponsored' them to the tune of €200M but UEFA downgraded this to a fair value of €100M. Which, if true, should actually give us loads of wiggle room if Etihad wanted to significantly increase their sponsorship with us.

You sound like an Arsenal supporter talking about City.

It is time FFP was blown out of the water, we have no debt and can afford to buy anybody who wants to join us, if PSG have thought fuck it let's do this, maybe we should just go all out and buy who the fuck we want and argue it in court about clubs in debt buying players for 90m+ on a yearly basis, along with all the other players they have bought, it is that that makes me angry.

We have never spent more than 50 million on a player give or take a couple mill for De bruyne and walker. United have done so twice by more than 80%. Psg have now done so as have madrid. We are in no way in the same brackets as psg. It's simply because we have the money that we have to spend more. Look at Everton now they have money. 30 milling each for pick Ford and Keane.

There is nothing dodgy about PSG, but there is a great deal which is dodgy about UEFA. FFP was pushed through by an "administrator" since banned for receiving "disloyal payments" and these regulations are based on the principle that any tinpot company can put money into a club, apart from the owner or anyone related to him in a commercial sense. The owner is just about the only person on earth who cannot invest in or sponsor his own football club. This is a novel and certainly unlawful principle and we are fortunate at City that the club could dismiss UEFA's actions against us in 2014 as "a pinch". PSG depend on owner investment much more than we had to and it is UEFA's biased and unlawful stance which forced them to do this through sponsorship. It is UEFA which should be condemned, not PSG.

Whilst I agree with the general consensus it is an obscene amount of money, football is an entertainment business and no one can argue that this hasn't been entertaining. The whole world seems to be talking about it, BBC had a full live update page devoted to this one transfer. As I've said many times with city, if PSG have the money and are happy to pay then I don't see what the issue is. Should shake things up a bit!

This was, I think, the attitude of the club and many of us on this forum in 2014, but the reality was that we could wait longer than four years for a judgement, or the case could be thrown out on procedural grounds and all that time City may have been banned from the CL. Ciy thought it not worth the bother: It is possible PSG are goading UEFA to take action, though I doubt it. What it does show, though, is not that the established élite cannot compete, but that what they really don't like is that they can't win all the time.

No. I chose the right one. Hows the tin foil hat fitting? How do you think City will be punished for the Neymar transfer?
Where there's a will there's a way and UEFA will do their damnedest to find it.we should have never thrown those paper aeroplanes.
