Neymar Transfer and its Effects on us

Pretty soon 100m may become a norm in the transfer market. it is huge money but this move has put them at par or just behind barca n real.

Where do PSG earn the money to pay this sort of fee are French TV deals better than the premier leagues, their league crowds aren't up there with the best do they have a good set of sponsors.

They make a lot of money tbh. However they aren't paying for Neymar as the state of Qatar is Neymar will be joining them for free. Hence why PSG also want Sanchez and willing to pay 70M for him as the 222M of Neymar fee won't be record for them.

Yeah. No chance.

If we spend on Sanchez and Mbappe I guess we should be lumped in as the big spenders. But even if we don't we probably will be lumped in anyway. And if they come out with new rules maybe it'll be better to have bought beforehand. :-)

We are big spenders though. PSG, Real Madrid, City and United are by and large the 4 big spenders in football. If anything seems excessive. You can almost bet on it being one of those 4.

Sure we might be the least egregious of the quartet. But we are a card carrying member of the spend crew.

When many of our fans bellow the often repeated lines " its not my money" or "I don't give a shot about the price," these are tacit admissions that we are in fact big spenders.

I rail about this mostly to ridicule. But I'm okay with that. Love the club, but think spending in football is excessive and the above 4 are the biggest reasons why.

Hopefully won't have the same effect as when we were first taken over and that idiot started gobbing off.

Fuck em. Sit back and enjoy the football. Pep is building a masterpiece

The spending is not excessive in the era of modern sports, it is what the current market will bear. It is on par with what happened in the major American sports in the last 20 years, and what happens every year with fans moaning about too much money. I get that spending big on the wrong player sucks as well as the increasing corporatism when it comes to ticket prices and expenses.

Again this coming from a dumb Yank (I became a City fan because of Claudio Reyna as a young lad, plus as a Jets/Mets fan automatically became enamored with the masochistic side of being the little guy in the city with the true supporters) why can't if PSG or hopefully City win the Champions league a couple times in the next few years become the biggest club in the world. I always find it laughable when some Liverpool fan thinks some 20 something-year-old kid wants to play for them because of their history, or in this case, Barcelona like the club is bigger than whatever bollocks. Money talks and who is winning lately, UEFA can get f*cked....

If we end up buying Sanchez for £50m, our net spend this window is going to be more than theirs so there's no point getting too high and mighty about it. Even though it seems ludicrous all being lumped on one player, let them get on with it and more fool them. Seems completely daft to me and he won't transform them into champions league winners alone. They've been miles off the pace and unless they bring in a few others I can't see it achieving the desired effect for any of them.

Is anyone saying he is? Does anyone dispute he will not help them? Even if he plays like Robinho for the next 5 years his global branding alone will be worth it.
