NFL 2023-24

Really? They sing (led into) that song after the 7th innings but don't know of anything else
It’s usually repetitive stuff of a few words, like ‘Let’s go X’ or the players name over and over, but large parts of the crowd will join in and keep it going for a good while. However, I’ve never heard anything as remotely inventive, or complex, as ‘Ryan Giggs is illegitimate…’

Ha ha!
Yes I've been to Tampa Lightning ice hockey games and they sing "Let's go Tampa" and that's about it.

When they play Salt Lake City there's never a "town full of Mormons, your just a town full of Mormons...."

Always feels as if the crowd needs to be led to sing, be it with someone taking the lead in the seventh inning stretch or the stadium DJ playing a particular song; some college football stadiums have impressive participation, yet it feels choreographed. Wonder how the Etihad would react to a cinema organ playing a few bars…

Hate to break it to you mate, but our Dolphins were never going to win this game even in optimal conditions. Its been a fun season for us long suffering fans, but we're basically a finesse team that does well against bad to average teams & gets shown up against better coached teams.

I like Mike McDaniel & hope we allow him to grow as a coach, but personally I've now given up on Tua as our long term QB. He's a system QB that does well when all the plays work & his first reads are open in the field. Ask him to do something more & he is limited. None more apparent than against the Chiefs where they jammed our receivers at the line which meant Tua had to think outside of the box & failed miserably.
I do like McDaniel and think he will be given longer as for Tua I understand what you mean and Tua can be frustrating at times but I have seen progression with him and it is 1st season he has stayed fit, injuries caught up towards end of season and if they had seen that game out v Titans and got the win then they could have rested Hill, Tua, Baker for the Bills game which would have been a dead rubber and not had to rush Waddle and Mostert back, I don't think there is a need for big changes

Was just looking back at the 2020 draft and the number of quarterbacks that were available: Burrow (1), Tagovailoa (5), Herbert (6), Love (26), and Hurts (53). Quite a crop. He seems to have overcome his injury concerns and did well for much of the season, so there is every possibility he will be rewarded in terms of his contract. Going to be interesting to see what Miami do.

Yes, the 2020 NFL draft was certainly an intriguing one from a QB perspective & one which I followed closely at the time since the Dolphins held the no 5 overall pick.

I don't think you can really blame any team for who they pick as the draft really is a lottery. There are so many variables which can determine whether the player picked becomes a success ranging from coaching styles & systems rather than simply relying on how productive they were at a college level.

I was a fan of the Tua pick at the time & people forget he most likely would have been the overall no 1 pick if it wasn't for a horrific injury at Alabama which I really to date do not think he's entirely recovered from, especially mentally. As a result, Burrow led LSU to the title & the rest is history. You could see there's a difference between Burrow & Tua with the former more in tune on how to win when the going gets tough. I wasn't a great fan of either Herbert at Oregon or Love at Utah State both of whom seemed to rely on their arm strength & wasn't sure if they could read NFL pro defences. Also felt the same about Hurts who transferred to Oklahoma after Tua took his starting position at Alabama. So far, I've been wrong on all of these QBs & I'm now beginning to lean on going for QBs who have a big arm, durable & can throw off platform rather than traditional accurate pocket passers. Reason being, NFL defences keep on improving & getting better & its getting increasingly difficult to provide optimal passing conditions for QBs. A QB who can extend plays should no longer be a luxury & needs to be the norm.

In saying all of this, I fully expect Tua to be back next season in a Dolphins uniform mainly because of the front office politics. If the FO were to move on from Tua, it would be admitting they were wrong in the draft & in sacking ex-coach Brian Flores, who was reportedly against the Tua pick & wanted to draft either Herbert or Love.

Rees-zammit is quiting Welsh Rugby to join the nfl. He has no team and will join the international pathway camp in Florida.

Big blow for Welsh Rugby. He's only 22 and a big name. Seems crazy to go from full international Rugby to might get on a practice squad type chance. Although Rugby in Wales is on its arse so maybe there's more money in the nfl.

I'm a big fan of both sports So will watch his progress with interest. He's a winger in Rugby. No idea where he would play nfl, is he quick enough to be a wide reciver of defence RB?
