NFL 2024-25

Saints ridiculously good start came to a stuttering halt Sunday with the Offence reverting to the pre-season low expectations.
The only thing saints good start showed us is how laughably poor the cowboys defence is

Just got back to the hotel after the Raiders-Browns game. Allegheny stadium is pretty nice, but not great, $2bn doesn’t buy much nowadays. I’m also flabbergasted that a new build stadium still has concourses that are too narrow and bathrooms that are too few.

First time I’ve seen Watson in the flesh. The benefit of being high up in the cheap seats is that you can truly appreciate the amount of wide-open receivers he overlooks.

I have been very critical of Watson but yesterday it was the OL that was the primary culpable party. They were embarrassingly bad at times. They mostly gave Watson literally no time to go through his progressions. I honestly think Watson had his second best game for the Browns (after Titans last year) when you take into account the performance of the OL. Just to be clear, I am not claiming he was great yesterday by any stretch. He did have two receivers open on the final play if he had gone for a quick release (under the sticks and to his left)! Will be interesting to see the reviews of the all-22 film later in the week.

The following three plays were killers:
  • Chris Harris doesn't hold the guard on the 'TD' throw to Cooper
  • Chris Harris doesn't snap the ball early
  • Hopkins chip shot extra point goes between the sticks

That’s a very fair assessment. You’re right that he wasn’t the biggest problem and it one of his best games so far, but that’s a low bar. In the first half especially, he kept overlooking wide-open WRs, holding on to the ball too long and ending up scrambling. You’re right that the O-line was a joke, but he wasn’t helping himself any.

The real killer was the bad snap in that final drive. How you do that after 2-3 mins prep time at the 2 min warning, was mind-blowing.

Browns fans were at least half the crowd. Easily 25-30k there. A really fun few days, despite the result.

Good test for the Lions tonight. Got a feeling its going to be a tough one with a few injuries racking up.
Yeah, Seattle are a good team and have good receivers

The Lions have pretty good depth this season though and have players on the defence; Reader, Houston and Cominsky who are ready to come back.

They need to win this though, it's another home game and will be loud, so hopefully they'll take advantage because they have some tough away games after the bye week.

Yeah cowboys, Vikings and packers away in the next 4 after the bye week so a win tonight is really important. Saying that, cowboys have been thumped at home a few times already. Vikings I wasn’t expecting to do so well.

The Vikings (and Washington) are the big surprises so far, but i think the Lions are better than them, Dallas and the packers (FTP).
Detroit always get fucked over by the refs in Dallas, so that one could go either way.

Need to win tonight first though...Go Lions, as they say round these parts!

If Seattle don’t win, then only one team in each conference will have perfect 4-0 records: Kansas City and Minnesota.

Chicago still bottom.

Washington win again :-) sitting on 3-1 atm but good at going Spursey.
HTTR.
