He's a good fit for Chelsea. Not many big teams would really want a specialist destroyer enough to pay that sort of money, but Chelsea have always been that sort of team and maybe even more so now they've got Conte in charge. Not a whole lot of control or creativity between him and Matic, but if you're going to sit deep and counter then it's a very solid base.
I really don't see why any 'top' side would want both Matic and Kante in midfield. That's very negative. They'll probably defend their way to another few trophies but it will be more of the same boring boring Chelsea.

Juve were reportedly in for Matic. Not sure if they'll still go for him if they end up trying for Higuain though.

Yup, but Chelsea have never been afraid of doing that. That is pretty much their identity, to be negative but successful, whenever they've tried to stray away from that they've suffered and I can't imagine that changing with Conte arriving and John Terry staying on for another year as captain. That all but guarantees that your back line isn't going far beyond their own penalty area and that you will have a lot of protection in front of them.I really don't see why any 'top' side would want both Matic and Kante in midfield. I don't see Kante's arrival signaling Matic leaving either as they are both very different players, Matic is a holder while Kante is a destroyer, they'd compliment each other well in a very negative side.

This Chelsea is negative thing is pretty BS imo,Conte has Said many times that he prefers to play attacking football...and playing phisically and with powerfull players like we did when we had Lampard,Ballack and Essien is very different from playing "negative" football,even there even is such thing...and its no coincidence that we have the Record for the number of goals scored and the Record of points on the PL this statement looks more like a way to diminish our achievements and frankly sounds bitter af....sorry for the rant

I also agree to an extent as i dont think people give Kante enough credit for his technical ability,he's more than capable of passing the ball and creating play - he's an excellent signing for your team.

In the Euro's, Kante excelled at breaking up play and winning the ball. Once won, he was at best average. IMO the knock on his pacing ability is deserved.I also agree to an extent as i dont think people give Kante enough credit for his technical ability,he's more than capable of passing the ball and creating play - he's an excellent signing for your team.
